Charlottesville and Albemarle County, VA – Once again the City of Charlottesville, the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA), and Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority (RWSA) is participating in the second annual “Imagine a Day without Water,” a national campaign to educate and inspire the community about the value and importance of water in our everyday lives!

The City, ACSA, and RWSA will be hosting an event on Friday, September 16th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on the Downtown Mall on the corner of East Main Street and 2nd Street NE next to the water fountain display at Central Place Plaza. There will be information about our public water utilities and water sources, free resources and giveaways to help residents save water, and music entertainment provided by 106.1 The Corner!

In addition, the second annual Imagine a Day without Water Student Art Contest will be launched. This fun-for-kids contest is open to all City and County public, private, and home school students. Last year’s contest was a huge success bringing in over 570 entries and hope to see increased participation throughout the community. Art entries will be accepted from September 16th through October 14th. There will be cash prizes awarded to the top finishers in different age categories and a fan favorite selected by the community.
