National Prescription Take Back Day this Saturday

Spring cleaning is in full swing.  In addition to our Household Hazardous Waste Days coming up this weekend, another important event is happening on Saturday: National Prescription Take Back Day!  Albemarle County Police Department and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital are offering this opportunity to turn in your unused or expired prescription medication for safe disposal this Saturday, April 29th from 10am-2pm at Martha Jefferson Hospital (500 Martha Jefferson Drive in the back of the hospital at the Patient Transport Area).  Note: no businesses can dispose of their medications at this event. Prescription drugs should not be flushed down drains or toilets because they can end up in our drinking water supply (see the epa.gov helpful pamphlet). Thanks for doing your part to protect water: our most precious resource.
