RWSA Declares Drought Warning

A Special Emergency meeting of the Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority Board of Directors was held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. The Board authorized the Chair to declare a Drought Warning which include mandatory water restrictions for the Charlottesville – Albemarle area. These restrictions are being implemented due to the rapid loss of water storage at the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir. The Drought Warning notification has been provided to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, the Albemarle County Service Authority Board of Directors and the Charlottesville City Council, in accordance with the Regional Drought Response and Contingency Plan.
