2-1-18 @ 8:15am: As of 11:30pm on 1-31-18, the waterline has been repaired and service has been fully restored. Approximately 25 feet of pipe was replaced. Both lanes of northbound Rt. 29 are currently open. RWSA will coordinate with the repaving contractor and VDOT to restore the northbound section, of Rt. 29 impacted by this work, at a later date; updates on traffic impacts will be provided at that time.

1-31-18 @ 1:24pm: At about 7:00 am this morning, there was a break in a 12-inch waterline located in the median of US 29 approximately 1,100 feet south of Lewis and Clark Drive. This cast iron waterline was installed in 1969.

Water service in the area will be fully restored and repairs to the northbound left lane will be completed by about 9 pm tonight. VDOT is onsite with traffic control measures. The northbound left lane will remain closed until the repair has been completed.
