Effective immediately, the Ivy Material Utilization Center will begin offering expanded recycling services at the current citizens convenience center. These services are free to the residents of Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville. The Ivy MUC is located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville VA, 22903.
The interim facility will accept:
- Corrugated Carboard
- Newsprint and Magazines
- Motor Oil
- Antifreeze
- Compostable Food Waste
- Glass Food & Beverage Containers*
- Mixed Brown Paper*
- Mixed Metals – aluminum beverage cans and steel cans*

At the February meeting of the Rivanna Solid Waste Board of Directors, planning for a new, permanent recycling convenience center was authorized on the site of the old Ivy Transfer Station.
