Summer Internships – May through August 2018
The Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority has three summer internships available. These internships will last for 12 weeks and run from May through August. All positions are Monday through Friday. The salary for these position is $12.00 per hour.
This internship is for a current or graduated college student with study concentration in business, library science, or related field. Experience with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is necessary. This person will work with our staff on electronic file retention, to include organization of the system, scanning of files, document destruction and other duties as needed.
This internship is for a high school graduate or college student with advance coursework or experience in cyber security. This person will work with our staff to review and upgrade our system security, as well as other duties as needed.
Water Resources Assistant Intern
This internship is for a current or graduated college student with study concentration in chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental science, environmental engineering, water resources or related field. Experience with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with water quality sampling and analysis, as well as a boating license is a plus. This person will be working with our Water Department and Laboratory staff to collect and analyze water samples from our reservoirs and visual inspections of the reservoirs, watershed areas and tanks.
