Water Manager

In light of a July 2012 retirement, the Authority is seeking qualified candidates for Water Manager. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with staff, management, and customers. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of treatment plant operation, water engineering and current treatment standards required. The ability to organize, and coordinate the work of subordinates in achieving required maintenance, repair, treatment, testing, and administrative functions; the ability to prepare plans and reports; have the knowledge, initiative and resourcefulness to handle problems encountered in the operation of treatment facilities; ability to direct others in a positive manner and to serve as a part of a management team required.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a 4 year college/university in a related field and at least 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in directing and operating treatment facilities. This position reports directly to the Director of Water & Wastewater.

Wastewater Manager

The ability to organize, and coordinate the work of subordinates in achieving required maintenance, repair, treatment, testing, and administrative functions; the ability to prepare plans and reports; have the knowledge, initiative and resourcefulness to handle problems encountered in the operation of treatment facilities; ability to direct others in a positive manner and to serve as a part of a management team.

Maintenance Mechanic
Posted: 9/13/11

Candidate must be able to perform advanced aspects of mechanical and electrical repairs/replacement of equipment. Work schedule is M-F, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., rotating on-call schedule is required.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with a minimum two years of work experience in a related maintenance field. Must possess a valid VA Driver's License with (or ability to obtain) a Class A CDL endorsement. Must have or obtain Flagman Certification.

Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or other designated person.
