In honor of America Recycles Day, celebrated on November 15th each year, the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is offering free mulch to customers of the Ivy Material Utilization Center, located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Rt. 29 N Lane Closure Due to Water Line Break
Charlottesville, VA – May 29, 2020 The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority is repairing a water line break on Route 29 North near Hilton Heights Road. Northbound traffic is limited to one lane in this area. Crews are currently on-site completing the repair. Local police are assisting with traffic diversion. Please use caution while traveling in this area, or use an alternate route if possible. Traffic lanes are expected to be reopened by noon on Saturday.

The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is pleased to announce it is expanding services at the McIntire Recycling Center (MRC). Through a partnership with Five Star Septic Inc., RSWA is offering a Used Cooking Oil (UCO) collection program. Visitors may now dispose of used, liquid cooking oil and grease at the MRC. Five Star Septic has provided a 300-gallon sealed container, located next to the MRC entrance, where customers can dispose of UCO and grease. Containers that customers use to bring UCO to MRC should be taken home for reuse or disposal. Five Star Septic will collect the container for...
