Above-Ground Storage Tank Replacement – Request for Quote #1112
The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (the “Authority”, “RSWA”) is seeking quotes for the replacement of
above-ground storage tanks at the RSWA’s Ivy Material Utilization Center (Ivy MUC), located at 4576
Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903.
Scope and Construction Notes:
a) Quoters are permitted and encouraged to visit the site prior to providing the Authority a
quote. To set up a site visit with Authority staff, contact David Rhoades at 434-296-3042 or
drhoades@rivanna.org.
b) Contractor shall note that the site will remain in operation during the work. Security of the
contractor’s materials/equipment is the sole responsibility of the contractor. The Authority will
accept no liability for the Contractor’s property if it gets stolen or damaged.
c) Contractor shall repair any damage caused to existing features including but not limited to
roadway and parking lot, utility poles, light poles, buried utilities, utility vaults, fencing,
buildings, signs, and landscaping.
d) Request for Quote No. 1112 includes the procurement of a General Contractor for furnishing,
delivering, installing, manufacturer’s training, and all other requirements, including appropriate
removal and disposal of existing tanks, piping, and ancillary items as specified within for the
fuel tanks as shown on the project drawings. Any fuel, sediment, sludge, or other materials
contained within the tanks being removed must be managed and disposed off-site in a
manner that meets all local, State, and Federal law.
e) Tank deliveries shall be done in a manner which will always allow through traffic through the
facility, allow access to all RSWA buildings and dumpsters, and will not interfere with any
RSWA facilities operations, maintenance, or treatment.
f) The scope of work is defined on the project drawings and all other information attached herein
to this Project Manual. The Work has been designed by Draper Aden Associates (DAA)
(Engineer) and will be coordinated with RSWA oversight.
g) If awarded, Quoter will be issued a purchase order for the work.
h) Quoter shall complete the attached Document 00 41 00 Quote Form and return to the
Authority.
Insurance Requirements:
Contractor shall purchase and maintain applicable insurance to complete the work, and insurance
companies must be duly licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Contractor shall deliver to the
Authority a copy of the Certificate of Insurance and endorsements for their records, along with a
“paid” invoice or letter from the insurance company stating that the policy premiums have been paid
in full and are not in arrears.

Questions are must be submitted by June 14, 2022 to be allow for preparation of a final Addendum, if
needed. Quotations are due by June 23, 2022 at 2:00pm. All quotes shall be submitted and signed by
an authorized agent of the company.
Quotes are due by 2:00 PM EST on June 23, 2022. Quotes received after this deadline will not be
considered. Quotes shall be mailed or delivered. All quotes must have “Quote #1112” clearly written
