The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (the Authorities) are seeking legal services. The successful offeror shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations applicable to the provision and performance by the successful offeror of the work and services that are the subject of the contract.
The Offeror shall be readily available to perform the following legal services, as requested by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors. Examples of these services include:
- Review and draft contracts, leases, and easements
- Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings
- Advise on financial matters, including bonds
- Advise on labor and employment matters
- Review fiscal and other policies, as well as Board by‐laws
- Advise on procurement matters, and prepare correspondence when conflicts on contracts, change orders, or claims arise
- Advise on responses to subpoenas, court orders, and requests for information from third parties
- Defend lawsuits, administrative claims, or other legal claims
- Conduct litigation as necessary
- Other legal services as needed
Proposals will be received by the Authorities until 4:00 p.m., December 31, 2020. Proposals may be either mailed, hand delivered, or express mailed to: 695 Moores Creek Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22902-9016, Attention: Mr. Lonzy E. Wood.
