After the City of Charlottesville’s successful summer pilot program that provided composting drop-off services at the City Farmers Market, several citizens inquired as to whether Rivanna’s McIntire Recycling Center could be an interim drop-off location during winter months when the market is closed.  So we brought the question to our Board of Directors (comprised of City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County local officials) who unanimously voted the 3-month initiative in! Charlottesville and Albemarle County, VA – The City of Charlottesville, the Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA), and Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority (RWSA) participated in “Imagine a Day without Water,” a national campaign to educate and inspire the community about the value and importance of water in our everyday lives.
