Surplus Property Sale

The Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority & Rivanna Solid Waste Authority will be accepting competitive sealed bids for surplus property.  Interested parties may view the list of items for sale below.

Sealed bids will be received at the Administration Office located at 695 Moores Creek Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22902-9016 until 4:00 pm EST, Monday, August 20, 2018.  All sealed bids are to include bidder name and address, daytime phone number, item(s) bidding on and bid price per item.

All items are sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied.  The highest bidder will be contacted and will have 5 business days to remove awarded property from the Authority premises unless otherwise noted.  All reasonable bids will be considered and the Authority reserves the right to reject any bid for any reason.

Purchases by Authority Employees and Their Families Except within the limits noted below, the Code of Virginia, § 2.2-3100 of the Conflict of Interests Act prohibits employees and their immediate family from engaging in certain transaction with a public employer, including purchasing surplus property valued at over $500. An employee’s immediate family includes a spouse, children, parents, brothers and sisters, and any other person living in the same household as the employee. A $500 limit to purchasing surplus property applies to surplus property sales, such as auctions or internet sales even if the buyer works for a different agency than the selling agency unless the property is purchased in any sale of surplus property at uniform (fixed) prices that are available to the public. Employees of the Authority should not purchase property if they influence the maintenance, surplus designation, pricing or disposition of the property item.
